Privacy notice
This notice covers the public Project Makeover website. It explains what happens when you browse, subscribe or follow a link to another service.
Newsletter signup and delivery
When you subscribe, we collect your email address. The signup service stores a subscription record with your email, status, signup source, timestamps and an unsubscribe token in a Cloudflare-hosted database. It uses the IP address supplied with the request to limit repeated submissions. This is a security measure, not advertising tracking.
The newsletter system uses Resend to deliver messages and supports forwarding new signups to Buttondown or Mailchimp when configured. The email service receives the address and message information needed for delivery. Delivery, bounce, complaint, open and click reports can be associated with a subscriber's email in the newsletter system. Whether opening or clicking is measured also depends on the email provider's settings and your email application.
You can use the unsubscribe link in newsletter messages to stop future newsletters. Unsubscribing changes your subscription status; it does not automatically delete the underlying record or past delivery reports.
Website delivery and performance
Cloudflare hosts the site and processes technical request information, such as IP address, requested address and browser details, to deliver and protect it. Cloudflare performance measurement may also run through the hosting configuration. This is separate from advertising pixels. The public website source does not include Google Analytics or a Meta advertising pixel. Fonts are served from this website.
Videos, donations and external links
The program video loads a YouTube player only after you press its play button. Loading and using the player shares connection and playback information with YouTube. You can browse without loading it.
Donation links open Givebutter, where that provider handles the donation flow and its own collection notice. This website does not collect payment details through those links. Sponsor, chapter, volunteer, photo-sharing and social links may take you to other services with their own information practices. Review their notices before entering information.
Contact and published material
If you email Project Makeover, the team receives your email address and the information you include so it can respond. Public pages contain organization, team and event information and photographs. Please avoid sending confidential personal information through a general inquiry.
Questions and requests
For questions about your subscription, corrections or removal requests, contact hello@projectmakeover.org. Tell us which record or page your request concerns without sending sensitive documents in the initial message. Retention and requests depend on the record and systems involved; this notice does not promise a fixed deletion period or irreversible anonymity.
